Peony Flower Basics
The peony is a large flower that comes from a genus of about 30 species all well-known for their large, colorful blooms. Most peony flowers are native to Europe and Asia, but they can be cultivated and grown in many different locations all over the world. These ornamental flowers are stunning and feature gorgeous blossoms in a range of beautiful hues. The herbaceous Eurasian peonies, Asian tree or mountain peonies, and the North American peonies are the three most common groups of this amazing flower. A peony has large glossy leaves and fleshy rootstocks, and it can produce large single and double flowers around late spring and early summer. Colors range from soft white and pink to rose and deep crimson, to name a few. This striking flower is a gorgeous addition to your wedding, home, or anywhere you want to incorporate a bit of nature’s beauty into your surroundings.
